The cleaner we used was Miracle All-Purpose Tile and Grout Cleaner. I specifically looked for a cleaner that was good for natural stone surfaces, and this product fit that requirement. It cleaned nicely, didn't have a bad odor, and was easy to dilute to the proper strength. A little goes a long way too.

We got it at the Home Depot and it was in a blue container. Good luck with your project!

Thanks for stopping by, Lionel. We definitely saved a lot of money and got a look that we wanted by doing our own refinishing. Progress is slow, but I promise that I will get those tutorials up as soon as I can.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I can't wait to see the your tutorial. You provide a great alternative to getting a whole new set of cabinets, and I'm eager to see how it turns out.

Keep it up, Joe!

Hi Sparks, thanks for taking the time to comment. As you can see in the follow-up post I put up four pictures on the different stages of the shower demolition. There's not too much detail there, but these are just basics to give people an idea of what was involved with this bathroom renovation project.

Yes, it certainly does take a lot of patience. The biggest reason why this job was possible was that we had another full bath in the downstairs. If we had to somehow do this renovation without the use of a separate shower, sink, etc., than I definitely would have hired most of it out to a contractor.

We've done a lot of work over the past week or so and I'll be ready to post a new round of pictures soon. Thanks again for your comment. Have a good one!
